This touring bike is typified by its shorter wheel base and steeper seat and head tube angles, making it a nimbler (albeit less stable) ride than a more traditional style tourer. Average tyre widths are 20 - 28mm. These bikes will accept mudguards and racks although they are not designed to carry huge loads. Light touring bikes are ideal for "credit card" touring, or endurance road events like Audax.
