A bike for the person who is riding mainly on roads, but fancies the odd trip on the High Peak Trail or the Cheshire Ring Canal tow paths.
A suspension fork takes the sting out of the odd bit of roughness, while the tyres are smooth enough for the road, and yet rough enough to deal with trails.
These bikes can take mudguards, pannier racks and all the paraphernalia of touring, shopping and/or commuting.
The “Comfort” bikes also do much the same thing, but with fatter tyres and a more sit-up-and-beg riding position. (See the section Comfort Bikes)
