Trek have been designing bikes specifically for women for a number of years.
On the basis of solid research they have worked out geometries and components that most women (between 4’8” and 5’10“) actually find comfortable to ride. There has been no compromise in performance.
On the contrary the whole purpose has been to make bikes for women that handle better for them, go faster (or more easily), steer better and still feel comfortable at the end of the ride.
