I Bike Manchester/Manchester Wheelers Womens Rides
Meet at Unicorn Grocery, Manchester Road, Chorlton, Manchester for a road ride with other women. A 40 mile on-road route, mostly flat. The rides are meant as an intro to road riding for women that want to get a bit faster and possibly even have a go at racing. During this ride we shall also hope to share bits of information that shall help newbies to road riding in groups and to cycle training. These include: How to ride in a group (including riding on someone's wheel, chaingangs etc); Nutrition before during and after a ride; Training- hints on timetables and routes etc; What to wear- clothing, component and bike tips. Charity Bike Ride - start and end : The Craven Heifer Pub, 264 Burnley Rd, Rawtenstall, Rossendale BB4 8LA. Mass Start 9am. Register from 7.30 to 8.30. Route : 53 miles. A challenging but extremely picturesque ride through the Pennines, Trough of Bowland and Ribble Valley taking in the climbs including Nick O'Pendle and Waddington Fell. Wanted classic and vintage cycles up to very early 1990s, modern cycles also welcome. Helmets recommended. Under 18 years of age to be accompanied by an adult.
