James
James Tresman James is the shop's resident BMXer and races for Manchester BMX Club, who are based near the shop at Platt Fields Park. As well as competing in Regional, National and European events, "Rooster" as he's known runs the Love Not Money team, which supports up and coming racers. After a decade playing American Football and a stint as a secondary school history teacher, James returned to his main passion, BMX. With a suitably extrovert hairstyle, a fine tuned sense of sarcasm and a love of bikes. James is at home amongst the other Bicycle Doctors.
Mo
picture of Maurice Mo has been at Bike Doc since 1985. Having started as a youthful bike tinkerer one day a week, he gradually amassed a legendry store of bicycle knowledge, and increased his commitment until he became full time and a full member. His bike use is mainly commuting, though he looks forward to being released from family duties enough to get out touring again. He has also been seen doing some very silly things on a mountain bike in his time. His patience, good humour and encyclopaedic bike knowledge are greatly appreciated by co-workers and customers alike.
Robbie
picture of Robbie Robbie has been propping up the counter since 1983 and is one of the founder members of the Bicycle Doctor Co-operative. In 1999 Robbie successfully completed the Paris-Brest-Paris. This is a gruelling Audax event held every four years. Since then he has done it twice more in 2003 and 2007. Entrants have to ride 1200km within 90 hours. This has to include all stops - sleep induced or otherwise. They also have to have successfully completed other Audax events to qualify for the Paris-Brest-Paris (or PBP). Check out the audax site for more information on these kinds of events. Robbie is also a track rider, a skill he learned in his youth. The training and endurance have paid off and we're proud to say that in 1999, 2001, 2005 and 2007, Robbie won the Veterans' Cup for the ACT Track League. Click here for more information about track leagues in Manchester. Robbie is also proud to have ridden the entire Tour-de-France route three days ahead of the tour in 1985. He did this with ex-England footballer Geoff Thomas to help him raise money for Leukaemia research. He also enters some time trials and most years he enjoys touring around the Alps or Pyrenees. Rock on Robbie.
Dave
Dave H Dave has raced Mountain Bikes, competed in time trials and even done the odd Cyclo-cross race! His mechanical skills are his greatest strength though, as he's worked on pretty much every type and brand of bicycle available. With a dry sense of humour and a fondness for coffee, Dave is never happier than when he's fixing something that at first seemed beyond repair.
Tom
picture of Tom As the youngest member of staff,Tom's clearing a few cobwebs in the shop and unseizing the knees of the old timers. When not in work, Tom can be found rattling around the trails of the Peak District or proving that a duffel coat can be aerodynamic as he breezes past the roadies of Wilmslow Road on his fat tyred MTB.
Joe
picture of Joe - Click for larger image Joe has returned to the bike trade from the world of IT. Their loss is our gain. An avid moutain biker he can often be seen chasing Tom around the hills in the dales and the peaks at every available moment. He has been riding bikes since he was knee high to a grasshopper. He doesn't drink tea, but twist his arm and he might make one, so we think he's all right.
Ed
picture of Ed - Click for larger image Ed is a keen roadie and has done the odd triathlon, sportives and many other team rides. When not on the road he is also a big mountain bike fan and has a wealth of knowledge of routes in england and north wales. Around town Ed is never without his classic Bianchi racer he commutes every where with it.
Guy
Guy and Chinghoih Lancaster on a tandem Guy is prabably the longest active Bicycle Doctor customer and frequently uses their services to mainltain his  bicycles, tandems and recumbent trike, which he uses to commute and joy ride round the Cheshire countryside. He has been the Bicycle Doctor webmaster for some years – while not developing websites for:
